What Is Tarot Actually For?
Tarot is not about predicting the future. It is a way of laying your situation out in front of you so that you can truly see it.

If you ask ten tarot readers what tarot is for, you'll probably get ten different answers. Some will tell you it's about predicting the future. Others see it as a spiritual practice, a psychological tool, or a way of communicating with spirit. For me, tarot is something much simpler.
It's a way of laying your situation out in front of you so that you can truly see it.
When we're in the middle of a difficult situation, we're often too emotionally involved to see every angle. We become overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in our own thoughts. We go around in circles asking ourselves the same questions over and over again.
Tarot creates a space where we can step back. Instead of everything feeling tangled up inside your mind, we begin laying out the different pieces of the puzzle. We explore your current situation, the people involved, the challenges you're facing, and most importantly, the different paths available to you.
Very often, clients leave saying something like, "I hadn't even considered that." That, to me, is the true power of tarot.
I don't believe tarot exists to hand you a fixed future. Life is constantly changing because you are constantly making choices. Every decision you make opens some doors and closes others.
A tarot reading allows us to explore those possibilities together. What happens if you continue on your current path? What changes if you choose differently? What are you perhaps avoiding? What opportunities haven't you considered yet?
Rather than telling you what will happen, tarot helps you understand what could happen based on where you are today. At the end of the day, your future belongs to you.
People often ask whether I only read the cards. The answer is no. While tarot forms the foundation of my readings, I also work intuitively.
I'm clairaudient, which means I often receive impressions, words, or messages during a reading. Every psychic experiences intuition differently, and no two readers work in exactly the same way.
I also pay close attention to what I'm feeling as I read. Sometimes I experience a heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach that tells me something isn't quite right about a situation. Other times everything feels incredibly light, calm, or expansive, which can be a sign that a particular direction feels aligned.
These impressions don't replace the cards—they work alongside them. The cards provide the structure, while intuition adds another layer of understanding.
This is probably one of the questions I'm asked most often. Some people believe tarot is evil. Others believe it's satanic. Others think the cards themselves have supernatural powers.
Personally, I don't see tarot that way at all. To me, tarot is simply a tool. Just like a journal can help organise your thoughts, tarot helps organise a situation so that you can look at it from a different perspective.
The cards themselves aren't making decisions for you. They're helping facilitate a conversation—between your conscious mind, your intuition, and, in my own practice, the spiritual guidance I believe I receive during a reading.
This is perhaps the most important thing I want every client to remember. A tarot reading should never take your power away. You are not trapped by the cards. You are not doomed by a prediction. You are not locked into one future.
You are the person making the decisions. Tarot doesn't replace your free will—it helps you use it more wisely. The goal isn't to tell you what you must do. The goal is to help you understand your options so that you can choose the path that feels right for you.
If you're feeling stuck... If you're facing a difficult decision... If you're trying to understand a relationship... If you're standing at a crossroads and aren't sure which direction to take... That's when a tarot reading can be incredibly valuable.
Together, we'll lay everything out, explore your options, and help you find a way through. Because that's what tarot has always been for me. Not fear. Not fortune telling. But clarity.
